Teaching Philosophy
The value of studying music is multi-faceted. Research shows that participation in music stimulates all parts of the brain simultaneously and strengthens other academic areas including reading, mathematics, and language. Students also gain life-skills from studying music such as self-confidence, organization and creativity.
Approach
Using a traditional approach, students learn to read music and build skills in music theory, fingering technique, artistry, line, sound and movement. Note reading and ear training are essential.

A variety of tools and techniques are used to teach students the foundational elements of music.
